Cornell War Memorial To Be Renewed

CVM is performing a full restoration of a historic Cornell University building.

Dedicated in 1932, the War Memorial is a Gothic cloister joining two towers. It stands as a remembrance of the 264 members of the Cornell community who were among the casualties of World War I.

CVM used visual surveys, non-destructive testing and discrete probes to update an existing conditions study which will guide the restoration. Building components including masonry walls and vaults, timber roof framing, slate roofing, flashing and gutter systems and a concrete utility tunnel were all considered.
