Meerkat Maze, a collaborative effort by the Philadelphia Zoo, CLR Design, CVM and CVMNEXT, has been named one of the top-ten zoo exhibits in America by readers of 10best.com. After a panel of zoo and family travel experts created a nationwide list of attractions, voting was held over a period of four weeks, with Meerkat Maze ultimately taking the seventh spot. Congratulations to the Zoo and all of the project partners.
Meerkat Maze is an extension of Zoo360, a first-in-the-world animal exhibit that allows animals to roam around and above Zoo grounds. A network of trails and lookout towers connected to the meerkats’ indoor home at the Small Mammal House, Meerkat Maze creates a new frontier for the meerkats to dig, explore and keep a lookout. Running alongside is a parallel trail for kids so they can get eye to eye and nose to nose with these amazing mammals.
