Jon E. Morrison, PE

Jon is a founding principal of CVM, and is known for his creative and collaborative approach to structural design for academic, civic and unique special purpose structures as well as for the adaptive re-use of buildings and urban infrastructure. His 30 years of experience includes notable structural engineering for cultural institutions including The National Audubon Society, Philadelphia Museum of Art, MoMA New York, Monticello, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, The Philadelphia Outward Bound School, Philadelphia Center City District, The National Park Service and Tyler Arboretum. His work also includes major projects for a number of prominent colleges and universities including the University of Pennsylvania, Temple, Cornell, Harvard, Princeton and Yale, along with Swarthmore, Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Williams.  Jon’s teaching experience includes many years as engineering critic to Drexel University’s 7th year architectural thesis studio and undergraduate structural design program, along with participating on numerous architectural juries. In addition, he developed and taught a graduate level course on the design of lightweight structures for the graduate architecture program at the University of Pennsylvania.
