Harvard University, River Houses

CVM has served as the envelope consultant for five of the Harvard University River Houses, a central part of a comprehensive, fifteen-year, $1 billion rehabilitation program that will ultimately address all of Harvard’s undergraduate houses along the Charles River.

Hygrothermal modeling and Transient Heat and Moisture Transport Analysis (WUFI) have enabled CVM to present options for energy conservation upgrades to stakeholders to aid their decision-making. Energy modeling has been informed by real-time data gathered through sensors embedded in the building construction, pre- and post-insulation improvements.
