Berklee College of Music, Multi-Building Survey

Berklee College of Music is a campus of clustered buildings scattered over a number of blocks in Boston, serving the needs of over 4,000 students. Berklee retained CVM to perform building envelope condition assessments of the ten buildings comprising the property of the school at that time, establishing short- and long-term deferred maintenance and preservation needs.

The program identified nearly $6 million in prioritized repair and renewal needs that formed the basis for a five-year program that targeted the highest priority items. CVM later updated their survey, reassessing the original portfolio in addition to five properties acquired in the past few years. CVM’s assessment informed the school’s master planning and expansion initiative, guiding the decisions on renovation program planning and property disposition ahead of a major building initiative.
