Whiting Forest, a new, multi-faceted attraction at Dow Gardens in Midland, MI for which CVM provided structural engineering, opened on Sunday, October 7. Over 30,000 people visited in the first week, experiencing the nation’s longest canopy walk, a 1,400-foot-long, 40-foot-high steel walkway in the trees. In addition to the canopy walk, Whiting Forest also includes a playground, two pedestrian bridges, a new education facility and a renovated visitors center.
