University of Pennsylvania, King’s Court English House

English House was constructed in the 1950’s, initially serving as a residence hall for nursing students, and later combined with two other five-story adjacent residential buildings to form the KC / EH complex.

The roof level deck terrace received the first green roof on campus under the direction of President Amy Gutmann, as part of a broad campus strategy to manage storm water runoff.

CVM teamed with a green roof consultant to lead the project design, removing the existing terrace, re-roofing with a TPO membrane and leak detection system, creating a more vibrant rooftop cafe.
