University of Pennsylvania, Anne & Jerome Fisher Fine Arts Library Stone Stabilization

Originally the University’s main library, the building underwent an extensive adaptive reuse to position it as a fine arts library in 1985, the same year that it became a National Historic Landmark. When a sandstone wall region outside the first floor began delaminating, CVM conducted an up-close survey of the stone, determining that the region could be secured under a “Safe With Repair and Maintenance Program.” In anticipation of a comprehensive repair program, CVM oversaw the design and implementation of a short-term stabilization.
