Completed in 1960 and 1965, respectively, the Richards and Goddard Medical Research Laboratories are two of the most important works by renowned architect Louis I. Kahn. The buildings were recognized as National Historic Landmarks in 2009, and are contributing properties to the University of Pennsylvania Campus Historic District. When Penn recognized characteristic signs of facade distress, they turned to CVM to develop a rehabilitation program that would address both their structural complexity and historic preservation requirements.
