As part of a larger renovation, a multi-level underground addition to Morse and Stiles Colleges was complicated by the need to meet the existing foundation and concerns of the building settling as a result of a high water table and dewatering efforts during construction. CVM worked with the project’s geotechnical engineer and specialty subcontractors to develop a jet grouting underpinning program that not only addressed these concerns, but proved to be a more economical alternative than conventional underpinning.
