After learning that their timber bowstring roof trusses were overstressed due to snow drift accumulations, Cornell engaged CVM to design a Truss Reinforcement program for Lynah Rink. CVM performed an extensive hands-on and visual survey informed by wood pathology to establish grading and identify microbial growth and decay. Our designers then teamed with our in-house construction managers to evaluate constructability, cost, and schedule, and presented Cornell with an optimal reinforcing solution that could be implemented during the hockey off-season to minimize impact to the University.
