As part of work with the United Way of Greater Philadelphia, a group of CVM employees completed a volunteer shift at Cradles to Crayons in Conshohocken last week. A non-profit with branches located in the Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago areas, Cradles to Crayons provides children 12-years-old-and-under in homeless or low-income situations with essential home, school and play items they might otherwise go without.
CVM staff helped to create approximately 100 kid packs, which typically include clothing for one week, a pair of shoes, a book bundle, school supplies and, during winter, a coat, gloves and snow boots. Prior to volunteering, CVM also held an office collection, and delivered donations of gently used and new clothing, toys and books.
